Amit Sharma / Bareilly: Cleanliness should not remain limited to campaigns or special drives but become an integral part of everyday life, said Cantt Board CEO Dr Tanu Jain on Thursday while highlighting the importance of the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative. Dr Jain appealed to residents to take collective responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and maintaining public spaces. She said cleanliness begins with individual responsibility and requires sustained participation from every section of society.Calling for greater awareness about environmental protection, Dr Jain urged citizens to prevent littering, protect water bodies and adopt responsible waste-management practices. Proper segregation and disposal of waste, she said, can play an important role in reducing pollution and keeping neighbourhoods healthier. She also stressed the need to protect the city’s green cover and promote environmentally responsible practices for a cleaner and more sustainable future. “Clean India begins with each one of us,” she said, underscoring that civic cleanliness is closely linked with public participation and community responsibility.
The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign seeks to reinforce the message that cleanliness is not merely an administrative responsibility but a shared civic duty. Dr Jain called upon citizens to turn the spirit of the campaign into a daily habit.
“Swachhata is Seva. Swachhata is Sanskar,” she said, urging people to contribute through simple but consistent actions towards a cleaner, greener and healthier tomorrow.
